“Suffer The Children To Come Unto Me”

Many of us have scars that have hindered us as adults. These scars derive from various traumatic events during the course of our lives. For me, there was an event that occurred when I was seven years old - an event that would derail me for many years.

That was until I heard The Holy Spirit say “Suffer the little girl to come unto Me.” For far too long, I was emotionally stunted. Sure, I functioned in my role as an adult masking feelings of fear, anxiousness, helplessness, shame, unworthiness and loneliness. All while holding my breath when triggered with memories of the unpleasant occurrence.

The emotional paralysis kept me in a holding pattern that led me to make choices that not only caused me to suffer but others in my life also.

Helpless in my own strength to change the perpetual cycle, The Lord in His infinite wisdom summoned me. But He summoned the little girl inside of me - the little girl who was still living underdeveloped on the inside. He told me to bring her to Him. That was the start of my process toward emotional health.

Matthew 19:14 KJV But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
