Angelia’s Paper Doll Blog

Angelia’s Paper Doll is a blog that is the love child of mine. When God told me to start a blog back in 2010, I didn’t even know what that was. Over the years since, there have been many derailments before I found my sure footing to tread this course. After enduring so much pain, while reaping joy, I found my purpose.

Throughout my lifetime, I have overcome many obstacles to get into the headspace that I’m in now. Come along for the journey to see how God brought me from seeing myself as nothing - lacking - worthless - NEVER ENOUGH…to having full assurance of who I am and Whose I am. Although I will never say that I have arrived, I will say that I am becoming something out of nothing. (Becoming S.O.O.N)

Having had my own bouts with wanting to fit in, I was determined that I would start a community of people who may still wrestle with people pleasing, low self-esteem, low self-worth, negative thoughts, and the like. How they think of themselves determines how they see themselves. Which makes them assume that others see them that way too. Their esteem may be so low that they feel as if they are not “good enough.” Well, here…everyone is a “good enough” somebody.

Genesis 1:31 “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good...”

The Welcoming Prayer

by Mary Mrozowski

Gently become aware of your body and

your interior state.

Welcome, welcome, welcome.

I welcome everything that comes to me in this moment

because I know it is for my healing.

I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions,

persons, situations and conditions.

I let go of my desire for security.

I let go of my desire for approval.

I let go of my desire for control.

I let go of my desire to change any

situation, condition,

person, or myself.

I open to the

love and presence of God

and

the healing action and grace within.

––– Mary Mrozowski 1925-1993

Angelia W. Burton is a black author embarking upon new assignments. "The Paper Doll" was her first published book in a series to detail the events of her childhood. Angelia's book demonstrates how WORDS have POWER! So much so, that our very world was framed by them. But for Angelia, those words didn't necessarily build her up as much as they tore her down.

Go like/follow Angelia's Paper Doll on Facebook!! Angelia's Fearfully and Wonderfully Made Books are sold on Amazon. If you can't make it to the Pink Pop Up Shop on this Saturday. Please go support her on Amazon.

I have bragging rights because I have two autographed books by Angelia W. Burton!

THE PAPER DOLL

…where real love and imagination meet.

THE PAPER DOLL

The Paper Doll is a nonfictional account depicting one of the most poignant moments in my life between my mother and myself. It details the power of my vivid imagination during a time that was still draped in childlike innocence. My imagination allowed me to escape the woes of poverty and all its trappings.

As a little girl who had very little, everything that seemed to be anything was considered precious. Upon the discovery of what was already torn and tattered, a priceless gift emerges wrapped in unconditional love - a love that I so desperately needed - my paper doll.

What began as only a piece of cardboard soon became a priceless treasure fashioned in the hands of my mother forever to reside indelibly in my heart.

The Paper Doll offers hope to anyone no matter what walk of life they come from. It champions the sentiment that something good can come out of nothing.

The Fearfully & Wonderfully Made Series is on Amazon.com

Testimonials

The Paper Doll

To support my Sister in Christ and new author, Angelia Burton, I purchased The Paper Doll. The Paper Doll is a short read, but in no ways short of revelation. Follow the story of a little girl as she unfolds how love was created and molded in what some would call an unfavorable living situation. Watch how someone's trash truly became a little one's treasure and when coupled with her Mother's creativity, pure love was manifested and discovered in multiple ways. You will walk away from The Paper Doll with a sense of gratefulness for the small things in life that played a big part in you becoming you.

I DO…DO I ?

To be or not to be

12/17/2020

As I was reading the book by Angela Burton to be or not to be. It descended my thoughts to my childhood. I had a terrible experience with one of the males, in our neighborhood. It was not a stranger, but a person that lived right beside me growing up. As I read the book, it brought back why I did what I did and the reason why I did what I did in my childhood. It made me understand me even the more, butit also brought compassion on women that had gone through this ordeal. It brought an understanding that you really don’t know what a person has gone through, but to have compassion and help them through the situation. It reflected on a person that I was not and I really didn’t like that person because I knew that it was greater that I could possess and better I could become. Reading the book, brought closer to the situation even the more that I been forgave the individual, but I really needed to release all things associated with the ordeal. This is just a summary of how the book has bless me and I am praying that it blesses more women that has been through this. God is a restorer, a healer, a deliver, and friend that sticks closer than a brother. He is the one that will see you through the drama. So maybe when we see a woman acting out of character, we will not be so quick to judge, but have compassion and pray for them.

I took so much away from the this book. It opened up alot of hidden feelings that had been harboring every since I was a child. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. In fact, I have read it twice since I got it. It also helped me get past the hurt that I experienced. Thank you so much , Angelia for allowing God to use you to write such an inspirational book. It not only helped me. It gave me the tool to forgive and move on from the pain of my past. I look forward to reading more from you.
